20021008 r-02-50 RESOLUTION NO R-02-50 SUPPORT OF CONSTITUTIONAL OFFICER / DMV PROPOSAL WHEREAS, The City of Fairfax has two elected Constitutional Officers, Stephen L. Moloney, Treasurer and William Page Johnson, II, Commissioner of the Revenue who are committed to serving the needs of the citizens of the City of Fairfax to the fullest extent possible; and WHEREAS, The City of Fairfax no longer has a Virginia Department of Motor Vehicle office located within the corporate limits of the City of Fairfax, and WHEREAS, The said Stephen L. Moloney and William Page Johnson, II have proposed a new partnership with the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles through the establishment of a Licensing Agency within their offices to better serve the citizens of the City of Fairfax; and WHEREAS, The Mayor and the City Council for the City of Fairfax are supportive of the Commissioner of the Revenue and the Treasurer is this endeavor; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Council for the City of Fairfax do support the proposal set forth by the Commissioner of the Revenue and the Treasurer to establish a DMV Licensing Agency within their offices to better serve the needs of the citizens of the City of Fairfax.
