RESOLUTION TO REFER TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION
AMENDMENTS TO THE CITY CODE REGARDING HOME OCCUPATIONS
WHEREAS, City Code regulations do not adequately provide for some
traditional home occupations such as party sales and uses such as craft or special
product sales that involve limited storage of goods inside dwelling units; and
WHEREAS, the existing requirements for home occupations in the City
Code may inhibit licensing of appropriate home occupations;
WHEREAS, City Code amendments should be drafted to provide practical
guidelines for issuance of permits to home businesses involving primarily outside
sales;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the
City of Fairfax, Virginia, refer to the Planning Commission for study, public
hearing and recommendation proposed text amendments to City Code chapter 26 as
stated above.
