RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE REVITALIZATION EFFORT
FOR OLD TOWN FAIRFAX
WHEREAS, the economic health and cultural vibrancy of Old Town
Fairfax is crucial to the overall well-being of the City of
Fairfax; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax, Virginia, wholeheartedly
supports the economic revitalization of Old Town Fairfax through
annual contributions to the Downtown Fairfax Coalition, annual
appropriations for infrastructure improvements, staff support to
downtown businesses, and promotions and publications to attract
visitors and business to revitalize Old Town Fairfax; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia,
believes the downtown revitalization efforts in Old Town represent
a wise and prudent investment in the economic future of the City of
Fairfax;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Fairfax, Virginia, that it fully supports the entry of the
Downtown Fairfax Coalition into the Great American Main Street
Awards competition.
