RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO
ADVERTISE THE INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, TO APPROVE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
FAIRFAX AND FAIRFAX COUNTY TO RELOCATE THE BOUNDARY LINE
BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE COUNTY.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 15.1-1031.1 et seq. of the Code
of Virginia, the City of Fairfax and Fairfax County desire to
relocate, by agreement, the boundary line between such
jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, the City and the County agree that their common
boundary should be relocated so that certain parcels of real estate
known as the Aspen Grove Subdivision, Fairfax County Tax Map 57-4-
((17)), parcel numbers Al, lA, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 6A, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11,
12, 13, 14A, 15A, 16A, 17A, 1SA, 19A, 20A, 2lA, 22A, 23A, 24A, 25
and a portion of Roberts Road, Route 653, will be incorporated into
the City of Fairfax; and so that certain parcels of real estate
more fully described as the northern portion of 4210 Burke Station
Road, City of Fairfax Tax Map No. 58-3-008, parcel number 9, and
the western portion of the Barcroft Bible Church property, 4000
Pickett Road, City of Fairfax Tax Map 58-3-001, parcel number 2,
will be incorporated into Fairfax County; and
WHEREAS, by this Resolution, the City Council authorizes and
directs the City Clerk to advertise, jointly with Fairfax County,
the intention of the City Council to approve, after a public
hearing on October 12, 1993, an agreement between the City of
Fairfax and Fairfax County to relocate the boundary line between
the City and the County, which advertisement shall be published at
least once a week for two successive weeks in a newspaper having
general circulation in the City and the County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Fairfax that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to advertise, jointly with Fairfax County, the intention of the
City Council to approve, after a public hearing on October 12,
1993, an agreement between the City of Fairfax and Fairfax County
to relocate the boundary line between the City and the County,
which advertisement shall be published at least once a week for two
successive weeks in a newspaper having general circulation in the
City and the County.
ADOPTED this 14th day of September, 1993.
