RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF
THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY
OF FAIRFAXAND FAIRFAX COUNTY TO
RELOCATE THE BOUNDARY LINE BETWEEN
THE CITY AND THE COUNTY, AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO CAUSE
A DESCRIPTION OF THE RELOCATED
BOUNDARY LINE TO BE PUBLISHED AS
REQUIRED BY LAW, AND AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO
PETITION THE FAIRFAX COUNTY CIRCUIT
COURT TO ENTER AN ORDER DESIGNATING
AND ESTABLISHING THE RELOCATED
BOUNDARY LINE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 15.1-1031.1 et seq. of
the Code of Virginia, the City of Fairfax and Fairfax
County desire to relocate, by agreement, the boundary
line between such jurisdictions;
WHEREAS, the City and the County agree that their
common boundary should be relocated so that certain
parcels of real estate known as Maple Terrace (portion of
Fairfax Acres, Section Four), Plantation Parkway
extension (portion of Phillips' Addition to Cyrandall
Valley), Pumpkin Place (portion of Westmore Knolls
Subdivision), and two parcels located on Chain Bridge
Road south of School Street (Parcels 2 and 2A of Fairfax
County Tax Map Nos. 57-3 and 57-4-((1)) be incorporated
into the City of Fairfax;
WHEREAS, by this Resolution, the City Council of the
City of Fairfax, Virginia approves an Agreement To
Relocate The Boundary Line Between The City Of Fairfax
and Fairfax County, Virginia and authorizes the Mayor to
execute the Agreement;
WHEREAS, by this Resolution, the City Council
authorizes and directs the City Clerk to cause a
description of the relocated boundary line to be
published at least once a week for two consecutive weeks
in a newspaper having general circulation in the City and
the County; and

WHEREAS, by this Resolution, the City Council
authorizes and directs the City Attorney to petition the
Fairfax County Circuit Court to enter an order
designating and establishing the relocated boundary line.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Fairfax, that the City Council approves an
Agreement To Relocate The Boundary Line Between The City
Of Fairfax and Fairfax County Virginia (the "Agreement"),
a copy of which is attached hereto, and incorporated
herein, designated as Attachment A and authorizes the
Mayor to execute the Agreement on behalf of the City;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council that the
City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause a
description of the relocated boundary line to be
published at least once a week for two consecutive weeks
in a newspaper having general circulation in the City and
the County; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council, that the
City Attorney is hereby authorized and directed to
petition the Fairfax County Circuit Court to enter an
order designating and establishing the relocated boundary
line between the City and the County consistent with the
Agreement.
