A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE REQUEST OF VISTA FEDERAL SAVINGS
BANK B Y SHAWN M. BRENNAMAN, VICE PRESIDENT-OPERATIONS, FOR
SPECIAL EXCEPTIONS FROM SPECIFIED PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 26
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT
10927 MAIN STREET AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS TAX
MAP 57-1-((2))-47A.
WHEREAS, Vista Federal Savings Bank has submitted application No.
SE-42-88-2 requesting the special exceptions to the City Code sections listed below:
Section 26-39.2(e)(1) and 26-173(e)(1) to allow a front landscaped strip 7.1
feet wide where 25 feet is required; and
Section 26-39.2(e)(2) and 26-173(e)(2) to permit a landscaped side yard of
three feet at the narrowest point where a 10-foot landscaped side yard is
required; and
Section 26-39.4(b)(3)f to permit a stacking lane with six stacking spaces
where eight stacking spaces are required for the first drive-in window of a
bank with drive-in facilities on the premises known as 10927 Main Street.
WHEREAS, City Council has determined that the proposed special exceptions
are appropriate because the proposed development meets the requisites established
by City of Fairfax Code Section 26-39.7(e) for the following reasons:
Will not result in increased traffic congestion or negatively impact exist-
ing pedestrian or vehicular traffic flow or safety;
B. Will not be contrary to objectives specified in the Comprehensive Plan;
C. Will permit a reasonable use of the property; and
D. Will not adversely impact adjacent properties.
WHEREAS, City Council has determined that the proposed special exceptions
are appropriate because the proposed development meets the requisites established
by City of Fairfax Code Section 26-173(f)(2) for the following reasons:
Will not result in development which is disproportionate to surrounding
land uses;
B. Will not adversely affect any nearby residential areas;

Will not overburden existing community facilities or result in obstruction
of light and air, endanger traffic, or cause traffic congestion or increase
danger from fire, flood, or other hazards;'
D. Will not be contrary to the objectives of the Comprehensive Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax on this 27th day of September, 1988, that application No. SE-42-88-2 be and
hereby is approved with the following condition:

The applicant increase the amount of on-site landseaping as recommended
by staff and work with the staff in the site plan process to achieve the
enhanced landscaping standards currently being required in the City,
