A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE, WITH CONDITIONS, THE REOUEST OF
SCREEN PRINTING ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL FOR A SPECIAL
EXCEPTION FROM THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 11, DIVISION 6,
OF CHAPTER 26 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX FOR PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 1001,5 MAIN STREET AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED
AS TAX MAP 57-4-18-151
WHEREAS, Screen Printing Association International has submitted application
No. SE-1-85-1 requesting a Sl~ecial exception to permit forty-four parking spaces
instead of the fifty-eight oarking spaces required by Section 27-39.4B; and
WHEREAS, City Council has carefully considered the application, the recom-
mendation of the staff and testimony received at the public hearing; and
WHEREAS, City Council has determined that the proposed special exception is
appropriate;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Fairfax City Council on
this 8th day of October, 198_5, that application No. SE-1-85-1 be and hereby is ap-
proved subject to the following conditions:
The Special Excer>tion is granted solely to Screen Printing Association
International for the use which is now proposed and is not transferable.
Parking shall be provided substantially in accord with the Proposed Park-
ing Scheme dated October 4,198,5.
The Association shall limit instructional activities to a maximum of eight
persons at any one time.
There shall be no more than ?.5 persons employed at this location.
This Special Excel~tion may be reviewed and amended or revoked by City
Council if it deems that the conditions of the Special Exception have
been violated.
Should this Special Exception lapse either through revocation by the City
Council, or by termination of the use proposed by the applicant, the
aDplicant shall, within 90 days of said lapse, take steDs to bring the
parking available u0 to requirement of the Code, excepting that should
the building be sold to a purchaser who can, in the opinion of the City
Council, meet the same conditions imposed Lo. on the avplicant, this
requirement shall be waived.
