jected for 1976; and
WHEREAS, the Fairfax Elementary School does not serve a
readily defined area; and,
WHEREAS, the Fairfax Elementary School building does
not lend itself to carrying out a modern educational program;
and,
WHEREAS, the projected staff reductions for the forth-
coming school year would further detract from the educational

school in the City; and,
WHEREAS, by closing the Fairfax Elementary School, Fairfal
County would save approximately $100,000; and,
WHEREAS, the Fairfax City School Board requested that
the Division Superintendent of the Fairfax County School System
initiate the process to close Fairfax Elementary School at the
end of 1975-76 school year.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that:
1) The City Council, City of Fairfax, Virginia,
strongly supports the City School Board in its request to the

Council requests the City School Board to enter into an agreement
with the County School Board absolving this City of any loss in
capital credits due to transferring City children to Westmore
and Green Acres Schools,
