R-71-13 RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION DIRECTING THAT NOTICE BE POSTED OF THE INTENDED VACATION OF SOUTH STREET IN THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, AT THE COURT HOUSE AND AT TWO PUBLIC PLACES IN THE CITY AND STATING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, TO APPOINT VIEWERS TO VIEW SOUTH STREET AND TO REPORT THEIR OPINION TO THE COUNCIL. Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, that the Clerk of the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, be, and she hereby is directed to post the following notice at the Court House and at two public places in the City of Fairfax, Virginia: NOTICE You are hereby notified that the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, intends to vacate a portion of South Street in the City of Fairfax, Virginia, described as follows: Beginning at a point in the south side of South Street S 74© 55' 10" E 15.00 feet east of the south- east corner of the intersection of University Drive and South Street; thence departing from the south side of South Street and crossing South Street N 15© 53' 02" E 50.00 feet to a point in the south line of the McCullen property and the north side of South Street; thence with the south line of McCullen S 74© 55' 10" E 321.76 feet to a point being the northwest corner of the intersection of East Street and South Street; thence with the west side of East Street S 15© 04' 50" W 50.00 feet to a point in the north line of Erlich property and the aforementioned south side of South Street; thence with the north line of Erlich N 74© 55' 10" W 322.46 feet to the point of beginning containing 16,105 square feet of land. You are further notified that on June 1, 1971, an ordinance was introduced and passed on first reading by the City Council for the vacation of the said described portion of South Street. Said ordinance has been set for public hearing by the City Council on July 6, 1971, at R-71-13 -2 8:00 o'clock P. M. in Council Chambers at City Hall, at which time you may appear and state your views. You are further notified that on June 15, 1971, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. in Council Chambers the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, intends to appoint not less than three nor more than five viewers to view South Street and report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result in discontinuing said portion of South Street. You may appear at the meeting of the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. on June 15, 1971, and state your views. Adopted: June 1, 1971. Attest: City dlerk
