AMENDED AND RESTATED RESOLUTION TO ADD THE FAIRFAX-FALLS CHURCH
CONTINUUM OF CARE REPRESENTATIVE TO THE HOUSING AND HEALTHY
COMMUNITIES ADVISORY BOARD OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA
WHEREAS, the City Council established the Housing and Healthy Communities
Advisory Board on July 23, 2024 to advise and assist the City Council and City Staff on
strategies, policies, practices, programs, services, and budget allocations on housing,
homelessness and healthy communities.
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax participates in the Fairfax -Falls Church Continuum of
Care, which coordinates federal, state, and local resources to address homelessness and housing
instability; and
WHEREAS, representation on the Fairfax -Falls Church Continuum of Care Board
provides an important opportunity for the City to contribute to decisions affecting local
homelessness and housing services; and
WHEREAS, the Fairfax —Falls Church Continuum of Care representative was
previously a member of the City's Human Services Committee and has been removed from that
committee to serve as a permanent member of the Housing and Healthy Communities Advisory
Board; and
WHEREAS, adding one (1) public at -large representative who serves on the Fairfax —
Falls Church Continuum of Care to Housing and Healthy Communities Advisory Board will
strengthen coordination between the City of Fairfax and the Fairfax —Falls Church Continuum
of Care;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City
of Fairfax, Virginia, that the membership of the Housing and Healthy Communities Advisory
Board is hereby amended to include one (1) member of the public -at -large appointed to serve
as the City of Fairfax's representative to the Fairfax —Falls Church Continuum of Care Board.
