R-23-47RESOLUTION NO. R-23-47 A RESOLUTION AFFIRMING AND ENDORSING THE CITY OF FAIRFAX'S PARTICIPATION IN THE VIRGINIA JUVENILE COMMUNITY CRIME CONTROL ACT AND AGREEING TO THE FORMATION OF A COMBINED PLAN WITH FAIRFAX COUNTY, WITH THE COUNTY ACTING AS FISCAL AGENT WHEREAS, the Virginia General Assembly enacted the Virginia Juvenile Community Crime Control Act (the "VJCCCA") in 1995, and the City has been a participant in the VJCCCA for many years; and WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice, which administers the VJCCCA, requires governing bodies to adopt resolutions endorsing participation in the VJCCCA, naming other localities with which they form a combined plan to utilize VJCCCA funding, and designating a fiscal agent for such localities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, that the City affirms and endorses its continued participation in the VJCCCA and shall continue such participation until and if it notifies Fairfax County and the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice, in writing, that it no longer wishes to participate. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City will combine with Fairfax County to form one combined plan, with Fairfax County acting as the fiscal agent for both localities. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager, or designee, is hereby authorized to execute any documentation required in connection with such local combined plan.
