RESOLUTION TO INITIATE AND REFER TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION A
ZONING TEXT AMENDMENT TO AMEND CHAPTER 110 OF THE CODE OF
THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, TO REPEAL THE CURRENT CHAPTER IN
ITS ENTIRETY AND READOPT THE CHAPTER WITH SIGNIFICANT
REVISIONS TO ALL ARTICLES AND SECTIONS CONTAINED THEREIN,
INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: ZONING DISTRICTS AND REGULATIONS,
SITE DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS, DEVELOPMENT REVIEW PROCEDURES,
NONCONFORMITIES, ENFORCEMENT AND PENALTIES, AND DEFINITIONS.
WHEREAS, Chapter 110 (the "Zoning Ordinance") of the Code of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, may be adopted and amended when the City Council deems such action to be in the
public interest by promoting the general welfare of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the general welfare and good zoning
practice require the amendment of Chapter 110 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia to
repeal the current chapter in its entirety and readopt the chapter with significant revisions to
all articles and sections contained therein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council refer to the City
Planning Commission for public hearing and recommendation proposed text amendments to
Chapter 110 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia.
