R-16-06RESOLUTION NO. R-16-06 RESOLUTION TO INITIATE AND REFER TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION A ZONING MAP AMENDMENT OF MULTIPLE PROPERTIES IN AN EXISTING DEVELOPMENT FROM THE R -T6 TOWNHOUSE DISTRICT TO THE RT RESIDENTIAL TOWNHOUSE DISTRICT ON THE LAND KNOWN AS 9600-9630 RIDGE AVENUE, ALONG WITH OPEN SPACE PARCELS, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS TAX MAP PARCELS 48-3-08-06-002 THROUGH 015 AND 48-3-08-06-000 A AND B. WHEREAS, Chapter 110 (the "Zoning Ordinance") of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, provides that the City Council may amend the zoning map when such action is deemed to be in the public interest by promoting the general welfare of the City; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the general welfare and good zoning practice require the amendment of the zoning map in accordance with the purposes of zoning set forth in Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, and the Code of Virginia. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council refer to the City Planning Commission for public hearing and recommendation a proposed zoning map amendment of multiple properties in an existing development from the R -T6 Townhouse District to the RT Residential Townhouse District on the land known as 9600-9630 Ridge Avenue, along with open space parcels, otherwise known as tax map parcels 48-3-08-06-002 through 015 and 48-3-08-06-000 A and B.
