RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE IlVIPLElVIENTATION OF THE COlVIPREHENSIVE
COIVIIVIUNITY CORRECTIONS ACT FOR LOCAL RESPONSIBLE OFFENDERS. TI-IE
PRETRIAL SERVICES ACT AND THE ESTABLISI-IIVIENT OF THE
FAIRFAX COlVIlVIUNITY CRllVIINAL JUSTICE BOA~

V\Thereas, the Virginia General Assembly has adopted legislation entitled the Comprehensive
Community Corrections Act ror Local Responsible OTTenders" Article 9 (9 9.1-173 eL seq.) oTthe
Code or Virginia and the Pretrial Services Act,. .Article 5 (9 19.2-152.2 et seq.) oT the Code of Virginia"
both of ~hich vv-ere effective July 1,. 1995; and
"VVhereas,. 99 9.1-174 and 19.2-152.2 of the Code of Virginia require counties and cities approved for a
jail project pursuant to 9 53.1-82.1 to develop and establish services in accordance v.rith both Acts; and
VVhereas" 99 9.1-178 and 19.2-152.5 of the Code of Virginia require that each county and city
establishing and operating local community-based probation and pretrial services establish a
Community Criminal Justice Board" and in the case oT multi-jurisdictional efforts" that each
jurisdiction mutually agree upon the number of appointments to said board_
BE rr THEREFORE RESOLVED that the City of Fairfax and the County of Fairfax jointly agree to
implement the services and programs required by the Comprehensive Community Corrections Act for
Local Responsible Offenders and the Pretrial Services Act vvith" pursuant to 9 9.l-183~ the Fairfax
County Executive acting as the administrator and fiscal agent on behalf of the participating localities:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Fairfax and the County of Fairfax establishes the
Fairfax Community Criminal Justice Board; that said board shall fulfill its responsibilities pursuant to
9 9.1-180; and shall be composed of the fo1lovving members" pursuant to 9 9_1-178 of the Code of
Virginia.

A circuit court judge representing the nineteenth Judicial Circuit as agreed upon by the judges oT

Fairfax Community Criminal Justice Board_

COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS ACT FOR LOCAL
RESPONSIBLE OFFENDERS, THE PRETRIAL SERVICES ACT AND THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF THE
FAIRFAX COMMUNITY CRIMINAL JUSTICE BOARD
Whereas, the City of Fairfax , Virginia ("City of Fairfax" or "Party"), and the County of
Fairfax, Virginia ("County of Fairfax" or "Party"), are political subdivisions of the
Commonwealth of Virginia; and
Whereas, the Virginia General Assembly has adopted legislation entitled the
Comprehensive Community Corrections Act for Local Responsible Offenders, Article 9
(99.1-173 et. seq.) of the Code of Virginia and the Pretrial Services Act, Article 5 (9
19.2-152.2 et seq.) of the Code of Virginia, both of which were effective July 1, 1995;
and
Whereas, 99 9.1-174 and 19.2-152.2 of the Code of Virginia require counties and cities
