AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17-10 (i), ARTICLE I,
CHAPTER 17 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA
CONCERNING EMPLOYEE BENEFITS.
1. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that Section 17-10 (i), Article I, Chapter 17 of the Code
of the City of Fairfax, is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 17-10. Employee Compensation
(i) Employee Benefits. Other compensation may be provided to
employees in the form of employee benefits as approved provided by
the city council. Such benefits shall include, but are not limited
to, retirement, life insurance and various forms of health
insurance. The city will be responsible for the funding of tko
~ benefits for career full-time employees and part-time
employees ~s as so indicated:
(1) Health insurance:
The city will offer basic health insurance coverage at
the contribution rates as determined by the council.

2. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the remaining subsections of the
section hereby amended shall continue to read as previously
enacted.
3. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that there is hereby continued in
effect the existing health insurance contribution rates until
revised by action of the City Council.

4. This ordinance shall become effective as provided by law.
