ORDINANCE NO. 1984-16
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 26-204 OF THE CODE
OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA PERTAINING TO
THE BOARD OF ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that Section 26-204 of the Code of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia be and hereby is amended as follows:
The first sentence of Section 26-204 is amended to read as
follows: "For the purpose of making effective the provisions of
this Article, there is hereby created a board to be known as the
board of architectural review, to be composed of seven voting members
and one representative who shall be appointed from the planning
commission by the council."
The third sentence of the first paragraph of Section 26-204 is
amended to read as follows: "At least one appointee shall be an
architect licensed in the state. In addition to the seven regular
members of the board of architectural review, an ex officio representative
shall be appointed from among the membership of the planning commission,
which representative shall not be entitled to vote with the board,
shall not be counted to establish a quorum, and shall not hold any
office on the board of architectural review."
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
execution by the Mayor.
