AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH SEWER
CONNECTION FEES AND FRONTAGE CHARGES
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that the Sewer Connection Fees and Frontage Charges be and they
hereby are established as follows:

Frontage Charge
Single family dwellings, if in residential zones -
$8.00 per linear foot of frontage, up to a maximum charge
of $800.00 per dwelling unit.
Other -
$8.00 per linear foot of frontage, no maximum charge.
Notwithstanding the frontage charges set forth hereinabove, the
minimum charge for any and all uses in any zone shall be $400.00.

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that:
1. Charges for multi-use premises shall be based on the various
types of use or on the principal use, whichever results in the higher charge.
2. The City Manager or his designee shall determine the type of
premises and charges for all premises. When the premise does not fall under
any of the listed types the City Manager shall select the most appropriate
type or types listed.
3. The type of premises and units of measurement shall be de-
fined in the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Fairfax.
4. The rates herein established shall be applicable to all new
construction connection and frontage applications made after February 1, 1977.
Existing dwelling units and commercial or industrial uses shall be required to
pay only those fees and rates in effect on January 18, 1977.
This ordinance shall become effective on February 1, 1977.

Sewer Charges
CONNECTION CHARGE FOR COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL
AND OTHER ZONES OR USE
Charges shall be based on the following Tables I and II. For fixtures or
equipment discharging continuously or semi-continuously to a drainage system, the
fixture units for such premises shall be increased to two for each gallon per minute
of discharge. Continuous or semi-continuous discharge may be such as certified by
manufacturer of the fixture or equipment involved or as shall be estimated or other-
wise established by the Director of water and Sewer Services. Charge Outside City
shall be one hundred and fifty (150) percent of In City charge.
