RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE REQUEST OF THAN-Q AUTO
SERVICE, INC., BY WOON KIL KIM, PRESIDENT, FOR A
SPECIAL EXCEPTION TO CHAPTER 110 OF THE CITY CODE TO
ALLOW A REDUCTION OF THE REQUIRED PARKING ON THE
PREMISES KNOWN AS 3765 PICKETT ROAD, AND MORE
PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS TAX MAP PARCEL 58-1-((2))-35.
WHEREAS, Than-Q Auto Service, Inc., has submitted Application No. SE-326-02-1
requesting a Special Exception to the City Code listed below:
Section 110-155(b)- one parking space for every 250 square feet of gross floor area, plus
two spaces for each service bay, plus one space for each employee.
WHEREAS, City Council has determined that the proposed Special Exception is
appropriate because the proposal meets the requisites established by City of Fairfax Code
Section 110-158 and Section 110-366(3) for the following reasons:
· It is consistent with the recommendations of the Comprehensive Plan,
· Will not result in increased traffic congestion or impact existing traffic flow or
safety,
· Is necessary to permit reasonable use of the subject property, and
· Will not adversely impact adjacent property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax on this 9th day of July, 2002, that Application No. SE-326-02-1 be and hereby
is APPROVED with the following conditions:
1. An appointment system shall be used to schedule repairs in order to reduce the number
of vehicles stored on-site.
2. The applicant shall ensure that no more than five vehicles (to include all employee and
customer vehicles) are parked in surface parking spaces. Any additional customer and
employee vehicles are to be stored inside the unit only.
