RELATIONS WITH CITY STAFF
WHEREAS, the Fairfax City Council has need for detailed information on a wide range of
subjects in a timely and efficient manner; and
WHEREAS, the City boards, commissions and committees have need for detailed
information on matters under their jurisdiction in a timely and efficient manner; and
WHEREAS, staff personnel also must provide continuing and responsive service to
ongoing functions and citizen requirements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
The Mayor and Council shall direct requests for support and conduct their liaison with the
City staff through the City Manager or his designee; and
The chairs of the boards, commissions and committees shall direct requests for support and
conduct their liaison with the City staff through the City Manager or his designee; and
3. The City Manager shall inform the Mayor and Council of requests from boards and
commissions of a non-routine nature; and
The City Manager or his designee shall coordinate such requests, including determining
staff availability, establishing priorities, informing the requestor of the time requirement and
other considerations relating to the response, and consideration of wider dissemination of
the responses.
